A beautiful card! The Three of Cups shows us a joyous scene of conviviality and closeness. Imagine an afternoon picnic with loving, supportive friends, everyone in the best of spirits. Food and wine are shared, toasts are made, and every minute we spend seems a blessed gift because we get to share it with each other.

This card revels in close connections, trust and good humor. To whom do you feel such closeness and goodwill that celebrating their success would be as joyful as celebrating your own?

This is not a formal gathering, often not even a planned one. The Three of Cups is about how trusted good company can create it’s own spontaneous celebration.

There is one cautionary note to the Three of Cups: there are usually symbols of autumn harvest in the foreground of the card. These magic moments come at their own time, we can’t force them and we can’t make them last forever. It’s important to know when the party is over. Trying to force it will stain the grace and joy it brings.
