Getting in the game
“The struggles we endure today will be the ‘good old days’ we laugh about tomorrow.”
-Aaron Lauritsen
The drive of fire cannot wait to get out there, always looking to overcome the next obstacle or win the next battle. When looking for a fight, we usually find one. This is the ‘get in the game’ push of our own ambition coming up against the shove of others’ desires.
If we understand it’s a fight we have chosen and take it as an opportunity to test ourselves, it can be a thrilling experience. When we let personal anger or feelings of entitlement fuel the conflict, we hurt others and ourselves and end up feeling resentful even when we win.
If you are being tested, tackle the test as a gift. If your desires are in conflict with someone else’s, respect that they are reaching for their own goals- take a ‘may the best man win’ stance.
Competition can be exhilarating or infuriating; it all depends on our attitude.
