Ah, the lady on this card has it made. A lush, private garden, gorgeous clothes and jewelry… even a falcon. She is a cultivated woman of refined taste who maintains her garden- her entire home- to keep herself surrounded by beauty and green things growing.

The Nine of Disks is a card of material comfort telling us to manage our surroundings in a way that brings us joy. Even just cleaning and re-organizing our desk can create the sense of contentment in our own space shown on this card.

Like all the Nines though, there is a caution. This woman is rightly careful about who she lets into her peaceful walled haven, but does that mean she’s missing out on the world outside? Is she, like the hooded bird, feeling calm only because her vision has been limited?
