KNIGHT/PRINCE
of DISKS
This is a card of…
Planning
Steady progress
Attention to detail
Measure twice, cut once
“We don’t have to be fast; we simply have to be steady and move in the right direction. Direction is always going to trump speed.”
-Toni Sorenson
In the suit of Disks the Knight’s movement is practical, one-step-at-a-time progress. She does not rush or cut corners. What she builds, she builds to last. If that means she moves a little slower than the flashier Sword and Wand Knights, so be it. She’s not going to be pressured into doing hasty, sub-standard work. Things will be done the proper way, in the proper order at the pace that will yield the best results.
Those results are usually material in nature. She builds. It could be a savings account, a dream home, an academic paper, the perfect model train layout; whatever it is there will be proof that it is there. The esoteric quests of the Knight of Cups baffle this earthy Knight- if you’re seeking self-knowledge and emotional understanding, how do you know when you’re done?
Though she may not sound like the most fun of the Knights she has close ties with friends and family, building her relationships with the same reliable steady attention she applies to her quests. While she probably wouldn’t describe herself as spiritual, her patience and devotion do give her work a somewhat meditative, therapeutic quality. Getting down to the brass tacks of work actually cheers her up.
There is a danger that her very physical nature can send her on quests that aren’t so practical. Negatively expressed, this Knight’s motion can become a compulsive quest for the next sensual pleasure: overeating, alcoholism, sex-addiction, or drug abuse..
